The club scene is struggling with many Clubs about to fold with poor member numbers attending the meetings.
The Clubs must act now to rebuild for the future, clubs must advertise hard and welcome members and offer new initiatives to get them into the club.
A few ideas
Radio this is possible as I have done this before. (Radio York)
Leaflets or invitations to welcome newbies to come along make sure the night is interesting and not all business matters?
Posters are a good way to show people Pet shops should help and put these in their windows.
Websites can be a great way to promote clubs with linking them to other sites as this gets the club noticed and people can see what you are doing.
Advertise in the Bird magazines every month tell people what venue and dates are on for the year.
Our updates:
Welcome to the many new members of the Cragstud website great to have such a top bunch of people and many thanks for all your support and please keep in touch.
well here we are already at August we are on with a major sort out and feel we must cull very hard this year as far too many birds on.
We would of completed this normally but we have had a lot on this year, we are now looking a head to the coming breeding season.
We are on with a deep clean and sorting things ready.
We will be updating the website and doing a revamp on it soon with new topics.
05 October: We have paired our birds as they have been bouncing and we didnt want to miss them. We suffered many losses while away on honeymoon some of the best stock we had so we are working hard to recover from this, we have also put new items in the birdoom, germo - kill unit and also a fogger for use with F10 we feel we have had a few birds go off with bacteria problems but sinse making a few changes the birds are all doing well.
We have also added a vit D3 addative to the birds intake as we felt the birds do not get enough vit D3 from the sun as the way the Birdroom is placed. However as I always say to people little works better than more as the extent of overdosing can happen with addatives.
Some advice is if using in water the extent of overdosing is reduced as the bird only takes what they need as the liver will extract what is needed and then they will get rid of anything thay do not need. This is a way to monitor and make sure the birds are not getting too much, however if you want to sensure a little boost give in the food it is them taken into the body, CARE MUST BE TAKEN in the amounts and also if you are using a few items make sure you understand what is in them as not to give the same thing 3 times from the different tubs as I think this is done often.
Care must be taken and if you are unsure ask for help and always use the instructions it doesn't work or get into the birds faster by giving more you are putting things to risk!!
less is more in my mind when using such items.
